Projects, interests and hobbies

This site is a loose collection of ideas, projects and links that interest me. Initially, it had no real purpose other than to give me the opportunity to play around with HTML to see if the code I write actually turns out the way I intended it to be.

It is still a bit plain, but will definitely have a navigation bar plus menu and perhaps a spiffy logo in the not-too-distant future. Other potentially boring, but standard items like favourite authors, books, films, food, drink, places, etc. will probably be added as time permits.

If any of the ideas or projects presented here are of interest to you, please follow the links at the bottom of the page to see for yourself. I would appreciate any feedback, preferably of a constructive nature. Contact me via the address at the bottom of this page. If you already have or know of a site covering any of the topics I plan to deal with as described below, please let me know as soon as possible, as I do not want to duplicate what other people have already made available online.

This site

For the more technically interested, this site started life as very basic html, put together using the notepad function of my Palm Pilot while on the train between home and work. I then tidied it up and filled in the gaps using Quanta 2 and Mandrake Linux. It is now hand-crafted (I like doing things the hard way) in validated XHTML 1.0 Transitional and uses CSS to make it look nice.

If it looks a bit strange or illegible in places, please let me know. I will try to sort it out as soon as possible.
